چکیده

Energy value of biomass materials can be enhanced through composition, densification and process parameter manipulation. In this study, briquettes bush mango shell (BMS) palm pressed fibre (PPF) compositions were evaluated its calorific values optimized. The effects concentration, dwelling/compaction time compression pressure on investigated for briquette samples in the BMS: PPF ratios 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, 0:100) as sample A, B, C, D E respectively. An empirical prediction model combustion property was developed optimized using response surface methodology. It observed across that composition increased, improved significantly from 12.4kJ/kg to 18.65kJ/kg. Increase dwelling also showed slight increase samples. optimum 19.03 kJ/kg B (75:25 ratio) realized at 40 minutes 25MPa adequately predicted by a reduced second order model. accuracy over 98% (Pred. R2 0.9858) with Coefficient Variance 0.64% Adeq. Precision 63.936. Thus, Sample possess properties burning rate 0.472g/min conditions hence suitable adoption investors renewable energy sector.

Palm pressed fibre oil: A new opportunity for premium hardstock?

Palm pressed fiber (PPF) is a by-product from oil extraction of oil palm fruits. It has unique characteristics resulting from the combination of palm mesocarp fiber, kernel shell and crushed kernel. The present study on different extraction methods for PPF indicated that conventional hexane cold extraction would be the more preferable method compared to soxhlet and reflux method due to the yiel...

An Experimental Study of Briquetting Process of Torrefied Rubber Seed Kernel and Palm Oil Shell

Torrefaction process of biomass material is essential in converting them into biofuel with improved calorific value and physical strength. However, the production of torrefied biomass is loose, powdery, and nonuniform. One method of upgrading this material to improve their handling and combustion properties is by densification into briquettes of higher density than the original bulk density of ...

The Effect of Storage on Some Properties of Groundnut Shell Biomass Briquettes

The effect of storage time on some properties of groundnut shell briquette with 5, 10, 15 and 20% binder (cassava gel) was studied. The briquettes were prepared using a motorized briquetting machine. The moisture content, durability rating, water penetration, calorific value and the ash content were determined after every 30 days for 6 months. The results reveals that the moisture content of br...

Experimental study and modelling of date palm fibre composite acoustic behaviour using differential evolution algorithm

Background and aims: In recent years, in most countries of the world, the provision of a calming environment without disturbing noise has become a need, which has subsequently led to significant growth in noise control techniques. It is now well documented that prolonged over-exposure to the excessive levels of environmental noise not only induces disabling hearing impairment but also contribut...
